New Timetable

As you may be aware, there is a new timetable coming into effect in September. This means the timings and durations of all lessons and breaks will have changed.

Fundamentally, college now starts at 8:55am and finishes at 4:15pm, though some subjects will require that you stay until 4:30pm for additional tuition in the form of one-to-ones or workshops - these new time slots are known as Personalised Learning Times and appear throughout the day. Lessons are now one hour long and there is a 5 minute transit time between lessons to ensure that lessons may start on time and without interruption.

In addition to the change in the timings and lengths of lessons, there will now also be a much welcomed additional break of 45 minutes between 12:20pm and 1:05pm. Though up to 30 minutes of this break may be used as Personalised Learning Time by individual subjects, it is unlikely that this will be the case everyday and you will be free for at least half of this break for most days of the week.

The daily timetable, therefore, now looks as follows:

08:55 09:55 First Period
10:00 11:00 Second Period
11:00 11:20 Break
11:20 12:20 Third Period
12:20 13:05 Personalised Learning Time / Break
13:05 14:05 Fourth Period / Enrichment or Tutor Period on Tuesdays and Thursdays
14:10 15:10 Fifth Period
15:15 16:15 Sixth Period
16:15 16:30 End of College / Personalised Learning Time

Update: We've heard from some people that the new timetable isn't as good as was expected and the decision was taken too suddenly and without student body consultation. If you'd like to add your comments, please contact us.
